Pole hips
Mohandas K. Gandhi:
You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.
Molly Ivins:
I still believe in Hope - mostly because there's no such place as Fingers Crossed, Arkansas.
Patricia Hampl:
The future is here, now, and the past is full of actual deeds, real history. Utopias hardly have the meat on their bones to sustain a people in grave times.
Friday and Saturday’s healing rallies were good.
Saw many children getting saved on my end.
The upstairs in Canaan Centre end.
Thank God they had the church buses to take us home every night… I managed to get home round 11pm odd every evening …
If not for the transport, the result would have been to wait for public transport until cough blood… believe me, I know what it is like to take public transport at such a late hour… it is not exactly my cup of tea… no siree~
Sunday’s service was enlightening and I picked up quite a few things.
Very thankful that I have such good mentors. Now the trick is to make the most of the time that is given to me.
Gosh… did I sound like Gandalf? O.olll
Studied at the CC after getting back from church.
I am very happy to say that I finished all the work that I set out to do. :D
Now I have the other tons to conquer… haha…
Monday’s Macro lecture was not so bad, since I managed to run through the syllabus before heading for the lecture. A good thing too, if not I would be wondering what the heck was going on the whole time.
Much work is in order.
I am optimistic about the process.
With God’s help, it will be all good :)
Tuesday, ah Tuesday…
Went to Plaza Singapura with TKM.
Had lunch at The Café Cartel.
The food was not bad, the prices also not that bad.
I realise that the prices at Swanson’s are more jiat lut… so I guess I will be visiting The Café Cartel more often in the future…
-hysterical laughter-
Went to Marks and Spencer to get my long overdue and badly need jeans…
It’s been more than 2 years since I purchased a new set of jeans lor…
Got me some spiffy new pairs and a new blouse as well… still lacking a cool belt and maybe some crazy shades…
I was eyeing a pair when I walked into John Littles but I decided not to get them, even though the price was very enticing… my wallet was screaming for mercy… bor bian~
Next time lah… I won’t go crazy without them… haha… maybe they will still be there the next time I decide to go shopping… which is… erm… donno when…. Haha…
The next item on the wish list is more a need item than a wish item.
My sports shoe, the pair that I had been wearing since JC2, has passed on.
The soles were cracked very badly and the grip portions were very close to falling off. The silver portions had also faded and chipped off in various places…
Never have I worn a shoe till it was in such a state.
To honour its passing, I took a picture of it and have up loaded it onto my photosite.
It shall forever be remembered in pixels
Thank you my nike pair, you have served me well.
My next pair of shoes will have a hard time filling your position.
Well… you know what I mean~
-chuckles-
I now make it a point to catch Grey’s Anatomy every Monday night.
“Into you like a train” was the name of the episode, which was aired.
It reduced me to a wreck of tears at certain points.
The main issue, for me, during that episode revolved around the dilemma of two patients who were involved in the train accident.
A pole had impelled the two people. It literally skewered the two of them together. Just imagine two people hugging and then add a pole that goes through their backs from one person to the other.
The problem was that both individuals had a lot of damage to their internal organs and in order to save one, the other would have to die.
Who gets to decide who lives and who dies?
What must be taken into consideration?
And what about the ones who have to make the decision?
Do they hurt as much? Less or maybe even more?
If this is a representation of what doctors have to go through daily in any one hospital across the globe, thank goodness I am not a doctor.
I would be spending more than half the time crying.
On a lighter note, it’s the show’s ability to bring across the pain and headaches of the doctors, which makes it so popular.
Can’t wait to catch the next episode… hopefully I will be home in time to watch it… heh… got lessons in the evening next Monday.
Heh~
First heard this song on the radio… it caught my attention because it reminded me of the song on Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights… the song’s got a pretty cool rhythm and I dig the trumpet… heh
Shakira - Hips Don't Lie
Ladies up in here tonight
No fighting, no fighting
We got the refugees up in here
No fighting, no fighting
Shakira, Shakira
I never really knew that she could dance like this
She makes a man wants to speak Spanish
Como se llama, bonita, mi casa, su casa
Shakira, Shakira
Oh baby when you talk like that
You make a woman go mad
So be wise and keep on
Reading the signs of my body
I'm on tonight
You know my hips don't lie
And I'm starting to feel it's right
All the attraction, the tension
Don't you see baby, this is perfection
Hey Girl, I can see your body moving
And it's driving me crazy
And I didn't have the slightest idea
Until I saw you dancing
And when you walk up on the dance floor
Nobody cannot ignore the way you move your body, girl
And everything so unexpected - the way you right and left it
So you can keep on shaking it
I never really knew that she could dance like this
She makes a man want to speak Spanish
Como se llama, bonita, mi casa, su casa
Shakira, Shakira
Oh baby when you talk like that
You make a woman go mad
So be wise and keep on
Reading the signs of my body
And I'm on tonight
You know my hips don't lie
And I am starting to feel you boy
Come on lets go, real slow
Don't you see baby asi es perfecto
Oh I won't deny my hips don't lie
And I am starting to feel it's right
All the attraction, the tension
Don't you see baby, this is perfection
Shakira, Shakira
Oh boy, I can see your body moving
Half animal, half man
I don't, don't really know what I'm doing
But you seem to have a plan
My will and self restraint
Have come to fail now, fail now
See, I am doing what I can, but I can't so you know
That's a bit too hard to explain
Baila en la calle de noche
Baila en la calle de día
Baila en la calle de noche
Baila en la calle de día
I never really knew that she could dance like this
She makes a man want to speak Spanish
Como se llama, bonita, mi casa, su casa
Shakira, Shakira
Oh baby when you talk like that
You know you got me hypnotized
So be wise and keep on
Reading the signs of my body
Senorita, feel the conga, let me see you move like you come from Colombia
Mira en Barranquilla se baila así, say it!
Mira en Barranquilla se baila así
Yeah
She's so sexy every man's fantasy a refugee like me back with the Fugees from a 3rd world country
I go back like when 'pac carried crates for Humpty Humpty
I need a whole club dizzy
Why the CIA wanna watch us?
Colombians and Haitians
I ain't guilty, it's a musical transaction
No more do we snatch ropes
Refugees run the seas 'cause we own our own boats
I'm on tonight, my hips don't lie
And I'm starting to feel you boy
Come on let's go, real slow
Baby, like this is perfecto
Oh, you know I won't deny and my hips don't lie
And I am starting to feel it's right
The attraction, the tension
Baby, like this is perfection
No fightin
No fightin
That’s it… back to the books!
Study hard guys~!
Cheers!
